Submitting Assignments

I’ve been slowly but surely submitting my assignments.  Some of them take very long to do and I’m hoping that they only take so long because I’m so fastidious and not because that’s how long it takes to produce all publishable material!

On the other hand, if that is how long they take and how long each bit of real life paid writing work will take, then I might as well get used to it.

My goal is to cover several types of writing, starting with magazine articles and moving on to short stories, screenplays, radio, novels, writing for children and probably other categories I’m not aware of yet!

Based on the level of experience I’ve already  had in submitting my writing, being ignored or rejected and handling the rejections, I think I’ll be OK as long as I keep believing in myself.  I haven’t been rejected enough to feel like a ‘failure’ (note to self: submit more!) and besides, I maintain my strong belief that writing is what I’m meant to do and it’s all up to me to make it work.

So, I’ll merrily continue scribbling, tackling my assignments and slowly inching towards my goals.  So far, I am enjoying the ride.
